Reviews from several years’ performances at Tanglewood, Jacob’s Pillow, and Berkshire county theatres are being posted and tagged here in the hope that it becomes an enertaining and useful complement to sister-site BerkshireLinks.com, where current cultural news and information is available.
When we registered the domain “newberkshire.com” in February 1997, it was approximately the 37,000th domain name to have been registered; we thought we’d missed the boat! There are billions now, so we are early pioneers.
The original idea was to create a magazine; a place to tell stories from Berkshires legend and lore and to publish reviews of plays, concerts, and dance performances in the Berkshires.
Within a couple years, we were reviewing most of the plays and several Jacob’s Pillow and Tanglewood performances. Additionally, we covered some non-Tanglewood concerts and did a few interviews.
We setup BerkshireLinks.com in 2001, initially to publish homepages for all 32 towns and cities in Berkshire county, thinking to keep NewBerkshire.com strictly arts-related.
